Emily is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) at Counseling Services at Steele Creek, PLLC. She completed her bachelor's degree in psychology at Liberty University and then completed her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. Emily has had one year of clinical experience in mental health and is looking forward to meeting new clients in the Charlotte area.
Emily's career experiences comprise of providing general counseling services with individual adults, adolescents, and children in the following areas: anxiety, depression, stress management, anger management, spirituality, boundaries, decision-making, relationships, domestic violence, and other mental health areas. Emily has a heart for humanity, and she finds happiness sitting with her clients in the midst of their hardships. Emily utilizes Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, and other distinct approaches to meet her client's counseling needs. She believes that one can re-write their story in the midst of their healing. Emily enjoys working with her clients collaboratively to promote strength, healing, and an overall healthy well-being emotionally, physically, socially, physically, and spiritually. She also often utilizes psychoeducation with her clients to help teach others to truly understand emotions, while encouraging emotional awareness. When using her therapeutic approaches, Emily likes to collaborate compassionately with her clients to help discover helpful coping skills for different problem areas. Emily will work to build rapport with her clients as she strives to know and truly understand her client's needs. What brought Emily to the mental health field is her love and compassion for helping others, as she is a believer in resiliency.
